Fiscal Justice Research Unit

The Fiscal Justice Research Unit works on taxation and public finance systems to promote progressivity, fairness, and inclusion. The unit assesses the structure and distributional impacts of fiscal policies; conducts thematic analyses on corporate taxation, the informal sector, and tax incentives; and evaluates pro-poor and gender-responsive approaches to strengthen domestic resource mobilization and social equity. It also examines public finance management systems, including budgeting, expenditure, and fiscal frameworks, with a focus on efficiency, transparency, and accountability. The unit develops reform-oriented fiscal policy recommendations, supports evidence-based tax and budget design, and contributes to strengthening equitable and accountable public finance systems.
