Business Climate Research Unit
The Business Climate Research Unit focuses on improving the overall investment and regulatory environment to support sustainable and competitive economic growth. It examines challenges related to domestic and foreign investment, sectoral productivity, and regulatory reform, while promoting better coordination across institutions. The unit undertakes sectoral and thematic studies, generates datasets and analytical diagnostics, and critically assesses policies and institutional frameworks. A key area of work includes supporting evidence-based strategies for post-LDC graduation, addressing issues such as export diversification, trade competitiveness, and macroeconomic stability. The unit also analyses policy and institutional barriers affecting businesses and works to develop practical solutions that enhance ease of doing business, attract investment, and strengthen private sector-led growth.
